The Keepers Of Order

The keepers of order are full of platitudes.

They sail about like small ships in a sheltered cove,

Proclaiming to everyone what small science suffices

To beat the big waves in the outer ocean.

To founder, they say, is proof of a structural failure.

But those among them who have strength to look truly

Into the full face of the storm,

Turn about and sail back silently.
